For “Remastering the Anthology of American Folk Music” (“R.t.A.o.A.F.M.”) I listened to Harry Smith’s influential “Anthology” while engraving a circular copper plate. These records could both be printed on a press and played on a turntable. This project attempted the strangeness of this record, which nurtured the revival of American folk music and its link with social justice, particularly the Civil Rights movement.
